AfAS-2026 Information

The African Astronomical Society (AfAS) Conference 2026 is Africa’s flagship gathering for astronomers, astrophysicists, engineers, policymakers, and educators. Scheduled for 22–27 March 2026 at Cresta Mowana Resort & Spa in Kasane, this will be the first AfAS Conference ever hosted in Botswana.

The event is jointly organized by the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) and the Ministry of Communications and Innovation, in collaboration with the African Astronomical Society (AfAS), the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO), and the Republic of South Africa’s Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI).

We are thrilled to invite you to register for the African Astronomical Society (AfAS) Conference and General Assembly 2025, set to take place from 23 to 28 March 2025 at the University of South Africa (UNISA) in Gauteng. This hybrid event will bring together professionals, researchers, students, education and outreach officers, policymakers, and international partners from Africa and beyond for three days of insightful discussions, collaborative workshops, side events, and networking opportunities.
